Dr. David Karow MD, PhD
President and Chief of Radiology
An internationally recognized innovative leader in MR imaging and genomic analytics, Dr. Karow is a proponent of using data-driven precision medicine testing and AI to achieve extensions in the healthy human lifespan. He is the senior author and co-author of numerous publications focused on early detection of chronic age-related disease using imaging and genomic biomarkers. Dr. Karow graduated from medical school at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2005 in a combined MD/PhD program with a distinction in research and completed residency and fellowship at UC San Diego and UC Los Angeles, respectively. David currently serves as President and Chief of Radiology.

Chief Clinical Officer for Human Longevity and Medical Director
Dr. Julie Chen is the Chief Clinical Officer for Human Longevity and Medical Director of Human Longevity, San Francisco. Dr. Chen specializes in internal medicine/integrative medicine, and she has over a decade of clinical research experience at institutions such as National Cancer Institute, FDA, Clinical Center at National Institutes of Health, Mount Sinai, USC, and UC Irvine. She has also been featured as a medical expert on TV shows like Dr. Oz, The Doctors, KABC-LA, Chicago Fox 32 News, and more. Chief of Cardiology and Medical Director
Dr. Keen is the Chief of Cardiology and Medical Director of Human Longevity, San Diego. He has over two decades of clinical, administrative, and academic experience with numerous contributions to clinical cardiology. His passion is early detection and management of clinical and pre-clinical heart disease. Prior to Human Longevity, Dr. Keen was the chief of echocardiography, chief of the adult congenital heart disease program, chief of the department of internal medicine, and assistant medical director over the departments of emergency medicine, hospital medicine, critical care, radiology, laboratory and pathology, and continuing care at Kaiser Permanente. He maintains an academic appointment in the division of cardiology at the University of California, San Diego as clinical professor of medicine.

Dr. Margaret O'Byrne MD

Dr. O’Byrne graduated from Rutgers Medical School, the state medical school of New Jersey. She completed Internal Medicine and Vascular Medicine residency and fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. O’Byrne also completed an Integrative Medicine fellowship at the Andrew Weil Center, University of Arizona. Her staff clinical and teaching experience spans over 20 years and includes Cleveland Clinic, Scripps Clinic, University of San Diego Medical School and Veterans Administration Health Center. Additionally, she works as an expert medical consultant for the Medical Board of California.

With over twenty years of clinical experience and numerous peer reviewed journal articles, Dr. Ziainia is the Chief of Women’s Health and Performance Medicine at Human Longevity. Dr. Ziainia has won countless awards from Top Doctors of San Diego (2013-2019, 2021) to Sharp Rees Stealy Physician Excellence Award. Additionally, Dr. Ziainia has been interviewed on numerous media platforms from KTVI FOX 2 News, KPBS, and KMOV News etc.
Julia Appis, DNP, FNP-BC
Nurse Practitioner
Julia Appis is board certified with experience in internal medicine as well as family medicine. Julia has a lot of interest and passion for preventative medicine and using lifestyle modifications to achieve optimal health. She is a big proponent of diet and exercise and enjoys discussing how these elements can fit best into someone’s life. She focuses on an individualized approach to medicine and recognizes that each client has his/her own specific needs that must be addressed to achieve longevity.
Jessica Kelley MSN, AGPCNP-BC

With over a decade of clinical experience, most notably in Internal Medicine at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines, Jessica is Board-Certified in Adult and Gerontology Primary Care with dual degrees as Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist. Her approach to precision medicine transcends pharmacologic therapy, encompassing holistic and lifestyle measures tailored to the individual. She is dedicated to Human Longevity’s mission of extending the healthy, high-performance human lifespan and looks forward to working with you on this journey.

Board certified with a clinical background in Cardiology and Internal medicine, Abigail has a passion for disease prevention through optimization of all aspects of health and wellness.
